I had written previously regarding "lessons learned" while protesting the roundabout. This, in an effort to help other communities faced with the same situation.

There is yet another lesson that I HOPE folks are teaching their children as we speak and that is the fact that the crosswalk pattern is different than before the roundabout. What is MORE important is that the children who will be in that area each day en route to school are made keenly aware of the dire importance of crossing ONLY in the crosswalks and to absolutely NOT try to cross in/THROUGH the roundabout. Finally, MOST important is that they are very very careful while they are in the whole area of the roundabout.

It's very apparent that drivers are quite uncertain as they negotiate in and around the roundabout, so everyone, heads up!!

Hi Everyone,

Some of you may have received the letter I have copied to TR Bongartz from the DTS's Mike Oshiro. It contains some belated good news that the projects planned for Kukila/Haloa and Halupa/Haloa have officially been canceled. As you recall, a second roundabout was originally planned for Molehu/Haloa and bulb outs at Kukila and Halupa. Our early efforts succeeded in having that second roundabout changed into a bulb out, although it was only intended to be temporary until the community was consulted. That never happened, and the bulb out was installed permanently.

Hi all Roundabout haters,

Check out what I got in the email today. I wrote to them over a month ago and only now has an "underling" been appointed to reply to me. Basically they are saying to me, "Too late. Haha."

Bunch of thugs.

On another note, I'll bet the kids with the lowered Hondas are going to have a blast trying to see how fast they can thread the roundabout when it's done, eh?

Greetings All,

Now that the roundabout is in the phase that it is, any thoughts on "lessons learned?" If Carol's interviewed these may be a talking point, you know, try to help the next person. Also I want to reach out to the Aiea folk who may/or may not be in the same boat we were.
