Hi Everyone,
I have been keeping track of the problems at the roundabout, and so far they include:
-An accident (someone did not know the meaning of "yield" ), Has there been a second accident?
-An ambulance could not get through and had to back out.
-Their is a light pole in the middle of the only available crosswalk, making it inaccessible to wheelchairs.
-The hedge of the supporter of "Safety First" at the corner house blocks the view of oncoming traffic from Bougainville Dr.
-A bus got stuck in roundabout.
-Gridlock one afternoon in the roundabout and adjoining traffic lanes - never has happened before.
-Still not sure ladder trucks can get through it. Someone on the Village who works with firemen will request a test.
-Diameter of roundabout seems considerably smaller than one in Salt Lake. Would someone wish to measure both of them?
If you know of other problems, please comment.
Thanks,
Janice

I personally avoid the roundabout. I will go up Ali Oli but turn right and go up the sidestreets.
Did you see the news article about that family,The Ackermans, who lost their son in a traffic accident a few months back? They just ask for signs to ID it a school zone. they recieved a letter stating that they would be installed before school starts. They still are not installed. When anyone calls they are told "We do not have a set time to tell you when it will get done."
Seems like the traffic has increased on the side streets. They have also have diverted the bus to the side street just before the roundabout. They enter thru the back entrance going down Haloa and turning down the first street before the round about. then they turn down the street fronting the pool to get back on Haloa. At that corner they have a cardboard sign tied to the stop sign stating the bus route change. So much for federal regulations! More than once I have to stop in the middle of the street so that the bus driver can make that turn. About 6 or 7 car lengths from the corner.
I will keep aware and inform. I have gotten no response to my blog sight.
